Kumada Fumio founded Kumada Manufacturing in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture.
The company began repairing machinery and designing and manufacturing automated precision machinery.
February 1953
Nippon Grinding Co., Ltd. was established (with capital of 500,000 yen, gradually increased to 30 million yen).
The company began manufacturing and selling razors.
March 1956
Daiichi Kakoki Kikai Co., Ltd. (the predecessor to Nikken Razor Co., Ltd.) was established.
The company was spun off from Nippon Grinding Co., Ltd.

Construction of the current headquarters was completed. The head office address was moved to Higashi-Kashiage, Seki City.
